CERN Internship Programme for Technical Students 2025

The CERN Technical Student Programme is a fully-funded internship programme for all undergraduate and master’s students. It provides you with a platform to experience an international environment with a high quality of life.
Students who are in the final year of their study programme and wish to pursue their final project should take advantage of this opportunity and learn under the supervision of the best and most distinguished academics, scientists and professionals.

This year, the CERN Technical Student Programme will select 80 students and provide them with fully-funded internship opportunities.

Institutions where you will carry out your studies:
European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), Switzerland.
Levels and areas of study:
4- to 12-month internships for undergraduate or master’s students in the following areas:
- General / Civil Engineering
- Applied physics
- Materials and Surface Science
- mechanical Engineering
- Electrical / Electronic Engineering
- IT, Mathematics and Robotics
Who can participate?:
Students from the following countries:
- Argentina.
- Bolivia.
- Brazil.
- Chili.
- Colombia.

Scholarship endowment:
The CERN Technical Student Internship Programme will provide all interns with the following benefits:
- Monthly allowance of up to 3407 Swiss francs.
- Travel expenses.
- Health insurance plan.
- Paid leave of up to 2-5 days per month.
- Additional benefits in different open programs.
- Opportunity to explore Geneva, Switzerland.
Conditions that participants must meet:
- Belong to CERN member countries or associated states.
- Have completed 18 months of your study program.
- Be full-time enrolled students even during the internship period.
- Have good knowledge of English or French.
- A CV.
- A copy of your most recent transcript that provides an overview of your grades (if you download it from your university’s portal, make sure it is unprotected so we can open it).
- A reference letter from your university professor is mandatory. If you have one from a previous internship, you can add it as a second reference.
