Utrecht University offers scholarships for Master’s studies for international students. There are a total of 25 scholarships available.

Scholarship endowment:
The University of Utrecht will award a prize to the student who wins the scholarship, which may vary depending on the level of study.
The prizes to be received include the following: Full or partial tuition fees and 11,000 EUR to cover living costs. If necessary, you can look for other funding sources to complete your education in the Netherlands.
Conditions that participants must meet:
- Be an international student from a country outside the EU/EEA.
- Have a university degree equivalent to one obtained in the Netherlands.
- Belong to the top 10% of your class.
- Submit a formal application to the Master’s course in any available subject via the Utrecht University online application system.
- Have a valid Dutch residence visa.
- Have a broad command of the English language, both spoken and written. You will need to submit a TOEFL or IELTS certificate .
Instructions for application:
1. Submit an application for a Master’s program. If you do not do this first, your scholarship application will simply be deleted.
2. Follow the steps below to submit a complete application for your chosen Master’s program:
- See the admission requirements for the Master’s program.
- Submit your application in a timely manner, preferably well before the deadline.
- Download the instructions to apply for the master’s program.
- Go to the online portal and complete the online application.
- You will receive an email with the login details for the OSIRIS Online Application , where you can upload the required documents. You can also check the status of your application in the OSIRIS Online Application.
- Pay the application fee.
3. After submitting an application for the Master’s programme, you will have the option to submit an application for a Utrecht Excellence Scholarship starting 1 November.
Please note that if the Master’s program deadline is later than the scholarship deadline, you must submit your Master’s program application before the scholarship deadline to be considered for the scholarship.
4. After submitting your application for a master’s program, you can go to the Osiris Online Application.
5. You will need to upload the following document:
Proof of being in the top 10% of your class (an official document issued by your university showing that you are in the top 10% of your class).
